The Significance of 40 Days

graphicForty days, according to the teachings and practice of the prophets and holy masters, is the mystical number of the course of perfection, a course that leads to an experience of the true essence of one’s humanity.

Those who undertake the practice of forty days move daily, step-by-step, from the lowest stages of the self to the highest state of experiencing the unity of being. Psychologically, when you set yourself for a forty day practice, the meaning and value of each day becomes enhanced; the closer you come to the end of the cycle, the more concentrated your energy becomes. The result of this practice is embracing peace and tranquility and is known as the Alchemy of Tranquility.
